Wendy is the driving force behind Woodland Pottery. Our original and custom pottery is made right here in Hendersonville the old-fashioned way, starting with a lump of clay and turning it on a potter’s wheel into its own unique shape. Next the piece is fired, glazed, and fired again, to complete a seven-step process. Finished pieces are food-safe, dishwasher and oven-proof, and available for sale in our online store. Orders may be picked up at our studio location. For our Production Pottery, wholesale pricing is available for orders of 36 pieces or more.
We also teach Pottery Classes in our commercial pottery studio located in the building behind "Kingfisher Airbnb," building. To see our schedule for class dates and times, just click on the "Book Online".
Woodland Gallery is located at 126 Powell Drive in the historic side of town, between Stadium Drive and Shivel Street. From Gallatin Road, Powell Drive is two streets north of McDonalds.
Pottery Classes
One Time Try-It Classes on the Potter's Wheel
Our one-time-try-it-class on the potter's wheel, is a fun time to try something new. Our class begins with a demonstration of how the potter's wheels work. Our instructor will show you how to control the speeds, and the different hand positions to create a vase or a bowl. After the demonstration, you will get your clay, and have the opportunity to create your own pot on the wheel.
